Introduction
My name is Greg and I am a Matchbox car collector. I have been collecting for about 5 years now and have amassed a large collection. I live in Los Angeles, California and enjoy going to car shows and surfing. I decided to start this blog to share my passion for collecting Matchbox cars with others.
Early Life
Matchbox car collector, van and surfboard enthusiast James “Buster” Davis was born on April 30, 1968, in Los Angeles, California. The middle child of three boys, Davis began collecting Matchbox cars at the age of five. His collection grew to include over 1,000 cars by the time he was a teenager. A self-described “car guy,” Davis’s first car was a 1963 Chevrolet Impala that he restored himself. He went on to compete in drag racing and drifting competitions throughout Southern California.
In 2009, Davis met his future wife, Stephanie, at a Matchbox car show in Las Vegas. The two were married the following year and have two children together.
Davis currently resides in Huntington Beach, California, with his family and their dog, Simon. He works as a mechanic and owns his own business,Davis’s Automotive. When he’s not working or spending time with his family, Davis can be found surfing or searching for vintage Matchbox cars to add to his collection.
The Collection

The Van
The van is a key part of the Matchbox Car Collector’s outfit. It’s useful for hauling around all those matchbox cars, and it’s also a great place to take a nap after a long day of surfing. The van is usually brightly colored and decorated with flames or other cool designs.
The Surfboard
The Surfboard is the perfect accessory for your Matchbox car collector with a van. This beautiful piece of art is handcrafted from 100% recycled paper and features a realistic wood grain finish. The Surfboard is also eco-friendly and biodegradable.
