With the release of the Plains of Eidolon expansion, Warframe got a whole new kind of environment to play in. The open world map is bustling with new activities and things to do, and one of the most unique (and tragic) parts of it are the giant Easter Egg hunts. These can be found all over the map, and if you’re lucky (or very unlucky) you may stumble on one while playing. If you’re looking for a challenge, or just want to help out your fellow Tenno, here’s a quick guide on how to use your Surf Board in Warframe to find these hidden treasures.
When you’re exploring the Plains, keep an eye out for strange symbols marked on the ground. These will usually be in hard to reach places, and often near bodies of water. If you see one, mark it on your map and head towards it. When you get close, you’ll see a surfing icon next to the symbol. This means that you can use your Surf Board to reach the area.
To do this, equip your Surf Board from your Gear menu and start paddling towards the marked area. You’ll need to paddle through shallow water – if you get caught in too deep water, you’ll sink and have to start again from dry land. When you reach the right spot, dismount your board and start looking for anything out of the ordinary. Easter Eggs can be anything from hidden rooms to fallen war machines, so keep an eye out for anything that looks suspicious.
If you find an Easter Egg, simply approach it and hold E to activate it. Be warned – some of them are traps set by hostile factions, so be prepared for a fight before you get too excited! Once you’ve activated an Egg, all that’s left to do is wait for it to hatch. This can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, so be patient. Once it hatches, you’ll be able to loot it for rare resources and items – good luck!
