How to Draw a Boy Holding a Surfboard

This step-by-step guide will teach you how to draw a boy holding a surfboard. The instructions are easy to follow and you can use any color you like.

Sketch a rectangle that will become the surfboard.

Start by sketching a rectangle that will become the surfboard. This doesn’t have to be perfect, since you can adjust the shape later. Just make sure the rectangle is wide enough to fit a boy comfortably.

Sketch two triangles on top of the rectangle for the boy’s arms.

Draw a small triangle on the left side of the rectangle for the boy’s left arm. The point of the triangle should be at the top corner of the rectangle, and the base of the triangle should be about 1/3 of the way down the rectangle. Then, draw a slightly larger right triangle on the right side of the rectangle for the boy’s right arm. The point of this triangle should be at the top corner of the rectangle, and the base of this triangle should be about 2/3 of
the way down the rectangle.

Sketch a circle for the boy’s head.

Start by sketching a circle for the boy’s head. Then, draw a horizontal line across the circle for the guide of the eyes. Draw two small circles within the main circle for the eyes. Just below the eyes, sketch a small curved line for the nose. Underneath the nose, draw a small curved line for the mouth. Finally, add two short lines above the mouth for the eyebrows.

Draw the boy’s body connecting the head and arms to the rectangle.

1. Draw a rectangle that is slightly taller than it is wide. This will be the basic shape for the boy’s body.

2. Connect the top corners of the rectangle to form the boy’s head.

3. Draw two small circles for the boy’s eyes, and add a curved line for his mouth.

4. Draw two lines extending from the bottom of the head to form the boy’s arms. Make sure these lines are angled outwards so that the arms look like they’re holding something.

5. Draw a surfboard under the boy’s arms, and add some waves in the background.

Draw the boy’s legs hanging off the bottom of the rectangle.

Use a pencil to draw a rectangle that is taller than it is wide. This will be the surfboard. The width of the rectangle will be the width of the surfboard, and the height of the rectangle should be about 1 1/2 times the height of the surfboard. Remember to leave extra room at the top of the rectangle for the boy’s head.

Next, draw two lines coming down from the top corners of the rectangle. These lines will be the boy’s arms. The lines should be about as long as the width of the rectangle.

Now draw two smaller rectangles at the bottom of each of these lines. These rectangles will be the hands.

Finally, draw two legs hanging off the bottom of the rectangle. These legs should be about as long as one side of the surfboard rectangle.

Draw the boy’s hair.

First, draw the boy’s hair. Draw it in a wavy style, making sure to add some waves at the top of his head. Then, draw his surfboard. Make the surfboard fairly long and thin. Add a few details to the board, such as a railing or some stickers. Finally, draw the boy’s legs and feet. Make sure to add some sand at the bottom of the drawing!

Draw the details of the surfboard.

Now that the basic structure of the surfboard is in place, it’s time to add some detail. First, draw a line down the center of the board to create a symmetrical design. Then, draw a curved line along the bottom of the board to create the wave-like shape. To add texture, draw small lines all over the surface of the board. Finally, erase any remaining guide lines.

Draw the waves.

Waves are an important part of any surfboard drawing, so make sure to get them right. Start by drawing two curved lines for the top and bottom of the wave. Then, fill in the middle with some more curved lines. Finally, add some small lines along the edge of the wave for realism.
